Clematis hybrids (patens)

Clematis 'Madame Blanc' belongs to the large-flowered hybrids and comes from the Dutch breeder Wim Snoeijer. Its white flowers measure 10 to 12 cm across and appear from May to June, with a second flush from July to August.

It grows to about 2 m and is suited to an obelisk, trellis panel or fence. It likes a sunny to partly shaded position, with the root zone kept shaded.

Prune to about 75 cm in June, after the first flowering. Hardy to about -23 °C (hardiness zone 6).
