Centifolia Roses
The ´Hundred-leaved Rose´ arose towards the end of the 16th century in Holland from a cross of Rosa gallica, Rosa moschata, Rosa canina and Rosa damascena.
The lushly double flowers appear in colours from white through pink to dark red. Centifolias grow tall and loose. Even today the ´farmhouse roses´ are very popular because of their intense fragrance.
Other names for Rosa Centifolia are: cabbage rose (Kohl-Rose), Cabbage Rose, Provence rose
