This is exactly what Felco has achieved with the F-Tech blades.

F-Tech is an extremely thin, water-based nanocomposite coating made of high-tech polymers. Thanks to the reduced friction between blade and branch, the effort needed for cutting is permanently reduced by approx. 10 %.

F-Tech blades as a drop-in replacement for the most popular FELCO shears

F-Tech blades are only marginally more expensive than steel replacement blades
the blades 2/3, 6/3, 7/3 and 14/3 can easily be replaced by the corresponding F-Tech blade

In addition to the option of upgrading a rose or garden shear you have owned for many years when a blade change is due anyway, the two Elite shears FELCO 6 Elite and Felco 8 Elite already come with these blades.

TIP - Sharpening and caring for the F-Tech blade

These nano-coated blades can be sharpened like any other. The advantages are largely retained even if the coating on the cutting edge is damaged by sharpening. In handling and care they do not differ from blades made of carbon steel.
