Moss Roses

Moss rose Muscosa with fragrant resinous glands

Moss rose covered with fragrant glands 'Muscosa'

Also the moss rose is one of the Centifolias. However, its sepals, fruit clusters and flower stalks are covered with moss-like glands. They arose at the end of the 17th century as mutations of some Centifolias.

Growth and flowers resemble their ancestors, and they too captivate with the intense ´Old Rose´ fragrance. Among the moss roses there are also some repeat-flowering varieties.
