This sport of Rosa centifolia was found in 1820 on a monastery wall in Fribourg/Switzerland.

Its name derives from the characteristic mossing on the outside of the buds, which is reminiscent of the shape of a bicorne hat - like the one worn by Napoleon.

The blooms are pure pink, large, double and well-scented.

Grey-green foliage, robust and hardy.

Cristata has a slightly arching habit and few leaves - but wonderful buds to make up for it! With suitable underplanting she looks very beautiful.
