Clematis 'Justa' was bred in 1988 by the Lithuanian breeder L. Bakevicius. This late-flowering clematis hybrid impresses with its compact habit and medium-sized, single flowers in pale blue: 6 to 8 elliptical, slightly wavy tepals with a delicate violet bar surround the prominent stamens with pale yellow anthers.
'Justa' flowers profusely from July to September, blooming through the height of summer into autumn, set off by lush green foliage. At around 150 cm, it stays pleasantly compact, making it ideal for containers, smaller trellises and obelisks, as well as gardens with limited space. Its site requirements are modest – it also tolerates partially shaded spots.
'Justa' is reliably hardy (zone 6, down to about -23.3 to -17.8°C). Since it flowers exclusively on the current year's growth, it belongs to the hard-pruning group: cut the shoots back to about 25 cm in March, so the plant sprouts vigorously and produces its abundance of flowers reliably year after year.

Justa is a very beautiful clematis. Her flowers are rather small, but she flowers lavishly and for a long time. Bloom period at mine:
2007: from 20.06. to 15.10. (119 days)
2008: from 28.05. to 20.09. (116 days)
In 2006 she had wilt at mine, but always sprouts well again. This year too she had wilt on one shoot. I cut it off and that was that. The rest of the plant carried on flowering diligently.
In autumn cut back to 30 cm above the ground.
Pale-blue flowering hostas of the same colour make a lovely combination.
