This rose is truly as beautiful
and elegant as its name. Unfortunately
somewhat sensitive to rain (flowers do
not open well, in continuous rain
like last autumn). But blooms
all summer and autumn.

Of all my roses so far, the one with the best fragrance.
The flower shape is simply perfect.
After a lush first flush it really does keep blooming until late autumn, though not as profusely then. Unfortunately, in my garden it is also prone to black spot in damp spells. But otherwise:
I LOVE THIS ROSE!
If I knew how it works, I could attach pictures.

I have had this rose for several years (certainly at least 6). It is a very freely flowering climbing rose. In my garden it grows over 3 m tall on an arbour. Once-flowering, but very abundantly, with small flowers that stand in real clusters. Photo available if of interest.
After many years I had to remove it from that spot and last autumn planted it leaning against a birch (!!!): it took without any problem and bloomed this summer "as always".

You can well understand why even famous people, such as Napoleon's wife, planted this enchanting rose in the garden of her château at Malmaison. The fragrance of this incomparable rose fills a whole room and creates atmosphere. Unfortunately, this beauty is sensitive to rain.

I cannot resist pointing out that Napoleon's wife, the "Rose Empress" Josephine, died as early as 1814 - but the rose only came out in 1843!
