The blooms of the first 'English Rose' are very large and somewhat peony-like. The once-flowering, vigorous plant takes on the shape of a bush and exudes a sweet, pronounced myrrh fragrance.
Besides flowering very abundantly just once in summer, Constance Spry has also retained the character and foliage of the Gallica rose Belle Isis, from which it descends. It can therefore be assigned to the class of Gallica Roses and can also be described as a 'Modern Gallica Rose'.
The English Rose Constance Spry is a wonderful sight above all as a climbing rose. In late summer and autumn it shows attractive autumn foliage colour and bears rose hips.

constance spry has been growing in my garden in the southern Palatinate for about 5 years. It thrives and flowers magnificently. What I like best is that it is so resistant to fungal diseases.Automatically translated · Show original
Constance Spry is a true highlight in our garden. A big mountain of roses blooms profusely once a year. On top of that, this rose is completely uncomplicated and resistant to all the diseases I know of.Automatically translated · Show original
