The old shrub rose grows compact and upright and reaches a height of about 150cm. The foliage is vivid green and very healthy.
During its flowering period from June until well into October, Jacques Cartier bears pink, densely double blooms with a button-shaped centre and an excellent, strong fragrance.
The rose variety Jacques Cartier is very hardy and also suitable for containers.
Overall one of the most rewarding Old Roses, requiring little care and a delight even for beginners.
Not only in pink - Jacques Cartier is also available in white

You can find the white sport (white Jacques Cartier / Jacques Cartier White) here. Apart from the flower colour, it is identical to the soft-pink old rose variety of Jacques Cartier described here.
The rose Jacques Cartier owes its name to the French explorer and seafarer who began exploring eastern Canada in 1534.

Through a mix-up of names at the nursery this rose came to my house. I decided to keep her and have not regretted it.
For 5 years she has given me joy with her wonderful fragrance, her plump flowers and her reliability. Although she stands in partial shade, she keeps flowering again. Often only sporadically, but until well into September. So far she shows no leaf diseases. Only in wet summers do the heavily double flower buds stick together and open poorly.

The strikingly plump buds with pointed sepals open in June into heavily double, pink-red flowers. They unfold into lush rosettes with an intense fragrance. It is a repeat-flowering rose that forms an upright bush, made for the small garden. The wonderful fragrance fills the garden and it also blooms in shade, but is also suitable for a large container.Automatically translated · Show original
