Clematis 'Rose Supreme' was raised by the English clematis specialist Frank Watkinson and was already in commerce by 1988. Its large, 10–12 cm flowers appear in a delicate, pale purple-violet, set off by creamy-yellow to greyish-yellow stamens.
At around 200 cm, 'Rose Supreme' climbs trellises, obelisks and other supports from May to June and also does well in containers.
'Rose Supreme' is reliably winter-hardy (zone 6, down to about -23 °C). For vigorous growth and abundant flowering, cut the plant back to about 100 cm in June.
