Clematis hybrids (patens)

Clematis 'Proud Mary' belongs to the large-flowered hybrids. Its pink flowers with violet stripes measure 6 to 8 cm across and appear from May to June, with a second flush from July to August.

It grows to about 1.5 m and is suited to an obelisk, trellis panel or fence. It likes a sunny to partly shaded position, with the root zone kept shaded.

Prune to about 50 cm in June, after the first flowering. Hardy to about -23 °C (hardiness zone 6).
