Clematis 'Raspberry Cream' is a 2024 introduction from the Polish clematis specialist Szczepan Marczyński and belongs to the group of early large-flowered hybrids (Patens Group). Its 18–20 cm flowers glow in vivid deep pink, are single and wide-open, and carry striking yellow stamens.
From May to June, 'Raspberry Cream' shows off its colourful display. At 160 to 180 cm, it stays more compact than many other clematis hybrids, making it well suited to trellises, climbing frames, obelisks and container growing on balconies and terraces. It appreciates a sunny to semi-shaded spot with a cool, shaded root run.
Rated to zone 4 (down to about -34 °C), 'Raspberry Cream' is exceptionally hardy and reliably survives harsh winters. It belongs to pruning group 2 and therefore needs only light pruning: cut the shoots back to about 100 cm in June so the plant regrows vigorously and flowers abundantly. As a young novelty, it's worth being patient at first until it reaches its full flowering potential.
