Clematis 'Lucky Charm' was raised by Dutch breeder Wim Snoeijer and introduced in 2015 by the J. van Zoest nursery. Its 6–8 cm flowers are white with a gradient to pale violet at the edges, set off by red-violet flower stalks; usually six, occasionally four, broadly elliptic, slightly overlapping sepals with gently wavy margins shape the bloom.
From June to September, 'Lucky Charm' produces its flowers in steady succession. At around 300 cm, it is well suited to trellises, obelisks and other supports, and thrives in both sunny and semi-shaded spots. As with most clematis, the roots and base should be kept cool and shaded, for example with low planting or a layer of mulch.
'Lucky Charm' is hardy to zone 5 (down to about -28 °C) and belongs to pruning group 3: cut the plant back hard to about 25 cm in March so it puts out vigorous new growth and flowers abundantly in summer. The young foliage appears bronze at first before maturing to rich green.
