Clematis 'Super Cute' was bred in 2006 by the Dutch breeder J. van Zoest (Wim Snoeijer) and introduced in 2018 under the breeder's code 'Zo09122'. The variety belongs to the Viticella group of hybrids and bears flowers 6 to 8 cm across in violet with darker stripes. The first flowers of the year are semi-double; the filaments are white with pale violet tips, the anthers pale violet.
'Super Cute' flowers very freely from June to September; the semi-double early-summer blooms are followed by single flowers. It reaches a height of around 300 cm and can be trained on trellises, climbing frames and obelisks. It also thrives in a container, although it stays somewhat smaller there. It tolerates sunny as well as partially shaded positions in any aspect and likes fresh, well-drained soil.
'Super Cute' is reliably hardy (zone 6, down to about -23 °C). As it belongs to pruning group 3, it is cut back hard to about 25 cm above the ground in March.
