Papa Meilland is a dream of a rose. Velvety dark red and fabulous fragrance. One rose in a vase and the whole living room smells of roses. But with this rose it's like with a beautiful woman: as a rule you don't have her all to yourself. You have to share her with other rivals: powdery mildew, black spot, winter frost.

Papa Meilland is truly uniquely beautiful and smells spectacular. After black spot it also got hit by a severe early frost and died. But I'm not giving up yet, I now have it as a standard. I treat it regularly and in winter I will wrap it up.
