Comparison with FELCO 2 and FELCO 14

FELCO 6 vs FELCO 2

The FELCO 2 is regarded as a proven standard model with high cutting performance.

Cutting diameter of the FELCO 2: approx. 25 mm. (User: "When I looked up spare parts… the 6 and 8 both have a one inch blade … the 2s … are the most popular for professionals.")

The length and weight of the FELCO 2 are somewhat greater, which is particularly noticeable with larger hands or intensive working conditions.

Advantage of the FELCO 2: more cutting capacity, sturdier dimensions – ideal for large hands or professional use.

Advantage of the FELCO 6: more compact, lighter – better suited to medium-sized hands if you do not regularly cut the thickest branches.

Conclusion: if you regularly cut larger branch diameters or have large hands, choose the FELCO 2; if comfort, ergonomics and a medium hand size are your focus, you are very well served by the FELCO 6.

FELCO 6 vs FELCO 14

The FELCO 14 is aimed at smaller hand sizes (S) and more compact uses.

Cutting diameter of the FELCO 14: up to 18 mm.

Length approx. 180 mm, weight approx. 190 g.

Advantage of the FELCO 14: very compact, light, ideal for smaller hands or finer work.

Advantage of the FELCO 6: somewhat greater cutting capacity (20 mm vs 18 mm), suitable for medium hand sizes – offers more capacity while still having good ergonomics.

This makes the FELCO 6 an excellent middle solution: more cutting capacity than the FELCO 14 and better ergonomics for medium-sized hands than the FELCO 2.

Decision guide – which secateurs suit you?

Hand size: if you have medium-sized hands → FELCO 6. Small hands → FELCO 14. Large hands or big cutting jobs → FELCO 2.

Use profile / branch diameter: frequently branches up to ~20 mm → FELCO 6 is sufficient. Regularly more than 20 mm or professional use → FELCO 2 recommended. Fine work, plant care with small hands → FELCO 14.

Ergonomics & comfort: if comfort and lower weight are important and your hand size fits → FELCO 6.

Budget & spare parts supply: all three models benefit from FELCO quality, a lifetime guarantee and good spare parts supply – the decision mainly comes down to ergonomic use and cutting requirements.
