Clematis 'SO MANY RED FLOWERS' was raised in 2003 by the Dutch breeder J. van Zoest BV and introduced in 2016. Its 8–10 cm blooms glow in a strong red with a purple flush near the base and a glossy centre. The lanceolate, pointed tepals have slightly wavy margins, set off by cream-coloured anthers.
'SO MANY RED FLOWERS' blooms in May and June and again from July to August. At around 200 cm tall, it grows compactly and suits trellises, obelisks and climbing frames. It thrives in sunny to partly shaded spots in moist, well-drained soil.
'SO MANY RED FLOWERS' is fully hardy (zone 6, down to approx. -23 °C). For plenty of repeat flowers, cut the plant back to about 75 cm in June.
