The clematis 'Tsukiko' goes back to the breeders Raymond Evison (United Kingdom) and Mogens Nyegaard Olesen (Denmark) and was introduced in 2016 by Poulsen Roser; it is also listed under the cultivar designation 'Evipo110'. Its flowers are mainly white, with six pointed tepals showing a pale green bar on the reverse when young, often with a faint violet blush. They measure 14 to 15 cm, and the filaments are tinted pink towards the tip and carry red-purple anthers.
'Tsukiko' flowers from May to September, bringing large white blooms to the garden for many weeks. At 100 to 150 cm tall it stays manageable and suits an obelisk, trellis or small espalier, as well as a large container. It likes sun to partial shade and a moist but well-drained soil.
'Tsukiko' is hardy (zone 5, down to around -28 °C). Cut the plant back to about 10 cm in March; this hard pruning corresponds to pruning group 3 and makes care particularly easy.
