Clematis viticella 'Minuet' belongs to the robust and popular Viticella Group, whose wild form originates from Southern Europe and Asia Minor. Its 5–7 cm, slightly nodding flowers show four creamy-white tepals edged towards the tips with a bold, finely veined violet-purple margin, set off by pale greenish-yellow stamens. For this balanced bicolour effect, 'Minuet' was awarded the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.
From July to September, 'Minuet' reliably produces an abundance of flowers, reaching a height of around 300 cm. The variety is excellent for trellises, obelisks and other supports, but also likes to clamber through small trees, larger shrubs or roses. It thrives in sunny to partly shaded spots – east- and west-facing positions suit it well too.
'Minuet' is reliably hardy (zone 5, -28.8 to -23.4 °C) and belongs to pruning group 3: cut the shoots back to about 25 cm in March so the plant sprouts vigorously and flowers abundantly. It is considered robust and low-maintenance, forgiving minor care mistakes and undemanding about its site.

Extremely delicate-looking, very pale flowers. Very strong, long shoots that grow far above eye level very quickly in a serviceberry in our garden. Perhaps it should be in a sunnier spot. But I wouldn't want to be without it.Automatically translated · Show original
