Clematis 'Pink Swing'

Clematis 'Pink Swing' was bred by Polish breeder Szczepan Marczyński and has been on the market since 2012. It belongs to the alpine clematis group (Clematis alpina & atragene) and bears 10 to 12 cm bell-shaped, nodding flowers in creamy pink that are always fully double on both last year's wood and new growth, with a light grapefruit scent.

'Pink Swing' flowers abundantly in May and produces a second, somewhat lighter flush from July to August. At a height of 200 to 300 cm, the variety suits trellises, obelisks and other supports, as well as cultivation in large containers. It prefers a bright position but also tolerates semi-shade and is undemanding as to soil.

With hardiness zone 4 (down to about -34 °C), 'Pink Swing' is very winter-hardy. For vigorous growth and a rich second flush, cut your plant back to about 100 cm in June.
