The rose Grand Hotel (also: Grandhotel) is a reliable, repeat-flowering red shrub rose with a good landscape impact. It bears clusters of double blooms in a colour-stable, velvety blood red with a pleasant fragrance.
A healthy, robust shrub that was awarded the ADR rating in 1977 (since withdrawn again). Grandhotel can also be grown as a climber to about 4 m, in full sun as well as in partial shade.

Very resilient rose, flowering throughout the entire yearWe have had the shrub rose Grand Hotel in our garden for about 20 years, approx. 60 plants in a colourful shrub hedge at the edge of the plot as well as in beds. The luminous red always showed itself wonderfully, the rose is equally beautiful against heat, direct sun exposure and even in shade. It is only slightly susceptible to leaf diseases, we only sprayed Neudovital in the early period, you don't need chemicals with this rose. We cut the shrub roses back by about 1/3 in early spring.
We had planted some Grand Hotel at a weeping Japanese flowering cherry, ornamental apples and purple-leaf plum. There it showed its quality as a climbing rose right up to the tips of the trees. It was finished off by an amateurishly working horticultural firm: the "experts" shaved the plants down to the ground, and with that everything was "done". We will of course buy new Grand Hotel - once you have owned this wonderful rose, you don't want to do without it!Automatically translated · Show original
