Clematis 'Mandy' was bred by the Dutch nursery J. van Zoest from 2006 and introduced in 2018. Its 6–8 cm flowers appear in pale violet-blue, with white filaments and dark purple anthers for contrast. In spring the flowers open semi-double with eight sepals, while the summer flush is single with six sepals.
'Mandy' flowers twice a year: from May to June and again from July to August. At around 200 cm, it is well suited to trellises, obelisks and other supports, and also thrives in containers on a balcony or terrace.
'Mandy' is reliably winter-hardy (zone 6, down to about -23 °C). After the first flowering, cut the shoots back to about 75 cm in June to encourage the second flush. The decorative seed heads remain attractive on the plant long after flowering.
