Clematis 'Grześ' is a 2025 novelty from the Polish nursery Źródło Dobrych Pnączy, raised by Szczepan Marczyński, one of Poland's best-known clematis breeders. Its 11–12 cm single flowers show a strong violet colour with darker stripes on each sepal – a classic yet striking look among the large-flowered hybrids.
At 200 to 300 cm, 'Grześ' climbs vigorously up trellises, obelisks and other supports from June to July and also suits larger containers. It thrives best in a sunny position with plenty of light, while its roots are happy to stay cool and shaded.
'Grześ' is very winter-hardy (zone 4, down to about -34 °C) and copes reliably with severe winters. For vigorous growth and abundant flowers, cut the plant back to about 50 cm in March – it will then flower the same year on the new growth.
