Clematis 'Jenny' was raised by the Swedish breeder K. Cedergren from a cross of 'Minuet' and 'Prins Hendrik' and introduced in 1991. Its 6–8 cm flowers are violet-blue, with a paler bar down the middle of each of the four tepals. Yellowish-white filaments with yellow-brown anthers add a fine accent at the centre.
'Jenny' flowers from July to September on the new growth, bringing colour to late summer when many climbers have finished. At around 300 cm tall it suits trellises, obelisks, fences and pergolas. It tolerates any aspect and thrives in sun or partial shade, ideally in well-drained soil.
'Jenny' is very hardy (zone 5, down to approx. -29 °C). As it flowers on new growth, cut it back to about 25 cm in March – this encourages strong growth and plenty of flowering shoots. Keep the root zone evenly moist and shade the base of the plant, for example with low perennials.

I have had her only since '08; unfortunately she had clematis wilt on one stem, but she still sprouted anew in summer and came into flower on the new stem.Automatically translated · Show original
