A dream of a rose, and so far it has given me no problems at all. Since it hangs over quite a lot, though, I have now supported it with a rose pyramid, which shows it off even better. As described above, it also smells wonderful. A good tip for areas where the weather is often rainy.Automatically translated · Show original
It has the most beautiful colour of all our roses! This year it is getting quite tall and is healthy. A rose support is necessary, though, because the heads (as with most Austin roses) are quite heavy for the stems.Automatically translated · Show original
I've had Pat Austin in a container on a south-west balcony for two years, with sun from 2 pm until evening.
Its colour and fragrance are (as mentioned above) truly unique. However, this summer it suffered a bit from the heat and the strong sun with me; the blooms then look limp and slightly burnt, but amazingly they recover almost completely overnight.
I can also confirm the drooping habit, but it's probably typical of Pat Austin, and I think the idea of a pyramid for support is great, then I no longer have to lift the blooms to enjoy them properly :-)
I cut it back like a bedding rose; this year it reached about 0.9 m in height and flowered very abundantly.Automatically translated · Show original
You can tell from my forum name here: I'm very attached to Pat Austin.
You have to be careful to still appreciate it enough after all these years. It has become so normal that this rose blooms from spring until winter.
It is my absolutely most reliable rose.
To the left and right of it the neighbouring roses have aphids, rose rust, powdery mildew etc., and Pat Austin defies it all.
A wonderful colour and a great fragrance.
I will definitely try the rose pyramid, I think it's a great tip.
But that is also all that bothers me about this rose, the drooping blooms.

Hello,
I've had my Pat Austin for two years. Unfortunately I haven't been very taken with the structure of the blooms so far. They were never as double as in the photo, and they had no fragrance either. Only the colour was right.
Maybe it just takes a while to show its full splendour.Automatically translated · Show original
