Parkdirektor Riggers was chosen by my husband because of the beautiful bright red color. At first it didn't appeal to me that much. It stands at the back of a bed as a large shrub, even though it is actually a climbing rose, in front of a thuja hedge that takes a lot of soil moisture from it. It also gets only a few hours of sun a day. But it puts up with all of that valiantly, even if it stays rather modest. In bloom it is an eye-catcher, a single cluster of flowers draws the eye. I definitely don't regret it. I'm sure that under optimal conditions it is a good choice.
