Clematis 'Sherriffii' belongs to the Tangutica Group and bears large, nodding flowers in bright yellow, measuring 5–6 cm across. The foliage is grey-green.
'Sherriffii' flowers from July to October and reaches about 400 cm in height. It grows in a sunny to part-shaded position and, as a climber, clothes fences, pergolas and trellises. The flowers appear on the current year's growth, so the plant stays in bloom for many weeks.
'Sherriffii' is hardy (zone 5, down to about -28.8 °C). For vigorous growth and a generous display, cut the plant back to about 25 cm in March – it belongs to pruning group 3.
