Clematis 'Pink Fantasy' comes from Canada and was introduced in Britain by Jim Fisk; the year given is 1975. Its 8–12 cm flowers are pink: a deeper pink central bar runs over light, peachy pink and fades towards the tip. The margins are wavy and the stamens reddish.
'Pink Fantasy' flowers from June to August. At around 200 cm it grows compactly and suits trellises, obelisks and other supports as well as containers. It thrives in sunny to semi-shaded positions and is not fussy about aspect. Moist but well-drained soil and a cool root zone suit it well.
'Pink Fantasy' is reliably winter-hardy (zone 6, down to about -23 °C). For vigorous growth and abundant flowers, cut the plant back to about 50 cm in March.
