I received this rose bare-root in March this year together with a Laura Louise and planted it in April in open
weather. While the Laura Louise is by now blooming wonderfully and producing buds without end, Sir Paul has had only one stunted flower. The foliage is gloriously healthy, but unfortunately the rest is missing. Does it need a longer start-up period? Thanks for a quick reply. Strong, beautiful colour and 2 x abundant floweringThis rose has been in my garden for an estimated more than 10 years and grows over 3 m high on a 2 m wide climbing wall and by now also with one shoot 5 m high into the cedar that stands just south of the rose, and so the rose has/had a lot of shade from the start, which it tolerates perfectly.
The rose takes up the whole wall with medium-dense growth - every year (without exception) a strong 1st flowering and, when the flowers are broken off, still a strong, if somewhat less so, 2nd flowering.
The colour is always extremely strong and luminous, which looks lovely in this predominantly shady spot with less sun.
The flowers are slightly hanging, which is why I also let it grow into the cedar. This now makes an arched passage and the slightly hanging flowers look good looking down from above.
I am very happy with this rose.Automatically translated · Show original
