The Clematis 'Lasting Love' traces back to the Polish cultivar 'Grażyna', bred in 1994 by the monk and clematis breeder Stefan Franczak in his monastery garden near Warsaw. Its 10–13 cm flowers appear on a pale pink ground with darker, vivid pink stripes along the centre of each tepal and golden-yellow stamens. Typical for 'Lasting Love': the first flowers of the season are often double, while later blooms appear simple.
Flowering from July to September over many weeks, 'Lasting Love' reaches an impressive 300 cm in height – enough for a tall trellis, an obelisk or a pergola, which it holds onto with its twining leaf stalks. Generously sized containers also work well, provided you water and feed regularly. A sunny spot with a cool, shaded root run brings out the stripe colour at its best.
'Lasting Love' is reliably hardy (zone 6, down to about -23 °C) and copes well even with harsh winters. After the first flowering, cut the plant back to about 100 cm in June; in early spring it is enough to remove dead and weak shoots. Give it a year or two after planting to establish itself before it shows its full flowering potential.

Super quality - planted end of March, already blooming by mid-MayTotally thrilled with the quality of the clematis we bought from Schmid. We didn't cut them back, as they were 40 - 50 cm tall. They are developing splendidly in this very warm spring. The Lasting Love has already been blooming for a few days.Automatically translated · Show original
