Rosa 'Angela' is one of the most proven and popular shrub roses of modern breeding and combines lush abundance of blooms with high resistance. Its numerous, semi-double blooms appear in dense umbels and glow in an intense old-rose pink with a delicate pink shimmer, giving it a friendly yet elegant effect in the garden.
The variety is distinguished by an exceptionally long flowering period and shows new blooms again and again from early summer into autumn. Its appearance remains remarkably stable even in unfavourable weather, which makes it a reliable garden rose. The fragrance is rather restrained to faint and deliberately stays in the background behind this variety's enormous flowering vigour.
In growth habit, 'Angela' remains compact, upright and bushily branched, and as a rule reaches considerably more than the 80 to 120 cm height often stated. Specimens of up to 300 cm are not uncommon. The dark green, glossy foliage forms an attractive contrast to the blooms and underlines its overall well-groomed appearance.
Its robustness deserves special mention: as an ADR award-winning variety, it convinces with very good foliage health, hardiness and a high tolerance for heat and changeable conditions. This makes it suitable both for beginners and for low-maintenance plantings in flower beds, borders or low hedges.
'Angela' is a straightforward, abundantly flowering shrub rose with classic appeal that convinces through its reliability, long flowering period and high health – a safe choice for almost any garden.
