The rose variety Purple Skyliner is very similar to 'Veilchenblau'. However, it flowers repeatedly throughout the year, almost without a break, and grows to only about 250 cm tall.
Its loosely double, light purple-violet blooms form clusters that fade to mauve and grey tones. With a manageable growth habit and healthy foliage, Purple Skyliner is also suitable for training up balcony railings or growing in a larger container.

Beauty with a surprising first startFirst of all I thank Schmidt-Gartenpflanzen most warmly: I had snapped up the last specimen in the online offer and awaited the shipment with excitement. Then it arrived together with the trainees. But the Purple Skyliner didn't look healthy at all. The Schmidt team noticed this too and did not charge me for the rose. Hats off. Acting so fairly is not a matter of course. Many thanks for that.
And then the Purple Skyliner ended up with just the right person: I find it especially appealing to nurse sick and weakly plants back to health.
And it thanks me for it. After I had got the fungal infestation under control with field horsetail, I planted it in a generous tub. In return it has indeed still presented me with fragrant flowers since the end of October, which are astonishingly rain-resistant. And there are still flower buds waiting for their turn. I am very happy about this lovely plant, which is still small but already very impressive.Automatically translated · Show original
an almost perfect rose with small weaknessesAbout 3 years ago I bought 2 Purple Skyliner as container plants and planted them about 2 m apart at the edge of a windbreak wall. An old construction-fence panel serves as the trellis, which by now is almost completely overgrown. Both plants have developed very nicely, although the location is not 100% ideal. The two roses only get sun from late morning until about 1 pm. After that the sun disappears behind the board fence. From the beginning of June a real explosion of blooms begins (see pictures). The bloom colour looks fantastic against the dark foliage and the board fence. My wife and I can hardly get enough of the play of colours.
There is one small drop of bitterness, though. Both plants are very susceptible to black spot. Over the course of the summer it affects more and more leaves. That is also what made me give only 4 stars.Automatically translated · Show original
