I grew this variety 40 years ago in my first house in London. It always was the first to flower, its 40 deep crimson petals unfurled, glowing from the heart, and then the most wonderful scent came about. From then on, it almost flowered continuously. It's growing habit is bushy and well leaved. Sadly, I had to leave it behind when I left London and now it is nowhere to be seen. I think it would also be good in a container.
