Firm coral-pink buds open into medium-sized, semi-double blooms that fade to salmon pink and, as they go over, reveal the golden-yellow stamens. The shrub, flowering in clusters, is well suited to a mixed bed; because of its informal habit and relatively modest demands on the soil, use as a hedge is also conceivable.
