Roses bred by Tantau
Rosen Tantau is, alongside Kordes roses probably the most important rose breeding company in Germany. Since 1906, a large number of well-known varieties, including many hybrid tea roses, bedding roses and also a number of shrub and climbing rose varieties have been selected and brought to the market.
The company, founded in 1906 by the rose breeder Mathias Tantau, is today, after two generations in family ownership, continued under the same name by Hans Jürgen Evers, a long-standing employee.
The best-known Tantau roses include Augusta Luise, Aspirin-Rose, Santana, Nostalgie, Chippendale and also Heidi Klum.
