The ADR climbing rose Golden Gate from Kordes bears semi-double blooms with a fruity, lemony fragrance. This harmonises well with the clear, golden yellow of the flowers, which appear in small clusters. The rain-resistant bloom is slightly cup-shaped, with somewhat ruffled edges. Golden Gate reblooms well and in autumn has attractive ornamental fruit with orange rose hips.
This very vigorous, upright climbing rose bears slightly glossy, leathery foliage. It is very hardy, extremely resistant to fungal diseases and easy to care for overall. The rose variety Golden Gate is named after the bridge of the same name near San Francisco, in the western USA.

Wonderful, undemanding, robust rose.Golden Gate blooms abundantly from June, for at least 6 weeks in a warm yellow, and later the robust blooms become paler. Great fragrance, and the semi-double blooms attract insects. In autumn it flowers again, even if it hasn't been pruned. If it is pruned, it flowers again earlier and more strongly. It is narrow at the bottom. I have rather slightly acidic, nutrient-poor soil. It grows undeterred, about three metres tall into a medlar. Garlands of blooms then adorn the medlar. Golden Gate gets no care, no fertiliser, and so far is healthy and vigorous. It has stood there in sun to partial shade for 5 years. Highly recommended! I love this rose.Automatically translated · Show original
