Planted in 1999, like Graham Thomas, already described.
Grows rather hesitantly with thin shoots. Only after being pruned back to three eyes does it have comparatively "normally thick" shoots. It probably won't reach the 1.00 m mark. After 4 years it is barely 50 cm tall. The growth habit is more like a modern floribunda.
It actually re-blooms very well each time after deadheading.
After the first flowering it is plagued by black spot (except this year).
It stands in full sun from morning to evening. The heat of recent months didn't bother it. Of course it was watered in between.
I find the fragrance rather slight.

I bought this rose in spring as a container rose.
It stands in a pot on my south-west balcony and gets full sun in summer from about 2 pm until sunset.
It flowered wonderfully this summer, certainly with around 35 flowers, which despite this year's great heat lost hardly any of their delicate beauty.
I will cut it back like a bedding rose (as I do all my potted roses) to suit the limited space in the pot. I've always had very good experiences with this in recent years.
Glamis Castle certainly doesn't have the strongest fragrance of an English rose, but I'm by no means disappointed with it.
