Clematis viorna

Clematis Viorna group: Woody climbers that flower on the new growth in summer or early autumn. Small, nodding, urn-shaped, sometimes bell-shaped flowers. 4 tepals in pink, yellow, red or purple.
Origin: The varieties have their roots in the botanical subgroup Viorna, such as Cl. crispa, Cl. pitcheri and Cl. viorna.
Use: As climbers, also over large shrubs or conifers - or as a large shrub in the border. The flowers can be cut but last only a few days.
Pruning: Hard pruning to 20 cm in late winter.
Resistance: Most varieties are slightly susceptible to powdery mildew.
Hardiness zone: 7, hardy in Germany, possibly problematic in harsh locations.
Planting depth: 5 cm deeper than in the pot.
