Princess Alexandra of Kent is a slightly later-flowering English shrub rose. It produces a lush abundance of large, very strongly and densely double, cup-shaped blooms in intense pink. The blooms are borne in small umbels and give off a pleasant fragrance.
The compact and bushy growing, medium-sized rose bears healthy foliage and blooms into autumn. The pauses between the individual blooms are somewhat longer. This rose variety takes its name after Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra of Kent (Alexandra Ogilvy), the daughter of the Duke of Kent and granddaughter of King George IV.

Very beautiful English rose in the typical Austin form. The colour is incredibly beautiful, the blooms as big as the palm of a hand, and it does reasonably well in a pot too. A possible drawback: if the branches are too thin, the blooms hang down. That may not be the case in open ground with good fertilising. Otherwise it needs the usual care but is not overly sensitive.Automatically translated · Show original
