Surprisingly vigorous, with large foliage and aiming high.
The first year with Desprez' Gelbe. I did not expect such a mighty shoot! I'll have to build something bigger than a trellis. It has rooted in splendidly, no diseases at all so far, a few caterpillars that were easy to pick off. I'm looking forward to the bloom.
One of my favourites. Highly recommended for warm regions.
For the first two years I was disappointed by the blooms, too small, too garish in colour, but then the colour settled into the right, in this case softer, chamois tone, as is sometimes the case with old roses. The blooms are large, airy-fragrant and appear in abundance. Its fragrance is unusual and very good. And it's the only rose that copes superbly on a south-facing slope without water even in dry summers! One of my favourites.
