The rose variety Desdemona by David Austin captivates not only with her globular, pure white blooms that develop from apricot-coloured buds. Above all, her intense fragrance with rich nuances of anise, peach and apricot, honey, raspberry and other fruits, with a hint of the typical scent of Rosa Damascena, delights across the board. Desdemona flowers very abundantly in June and, after a short pause, throughout the summer into autumn.
The healthy, hardy shrub grows compact and bushy, well branched, and bears glossy green foliage. Suitable uses include mixed beds, growing in a container, or a medium-sized rose hedge.

Enchanting!Last year I planted it bare-root in a container and it was already blooming happily and repeatedly. This year it got a larger container and thanks me with industrious growth and a lavish profusion of blooms. I missed the chance to prune it. Now it is climbing up a rose arch. It tolerates a partially shaded spot directly behind a tall hedge, and even the frequent rain doesn't seem to bother it. The blooms are beautiful, the play of colour from soft pink through ivory to white very striking. I find the fragrance rather delicate, but very fitting for the delicate blooms!Automatically translated · Show original
My favourite white rose for its health and beautiful appearanceVery healthy and reliable rose. It blooms and blooms. And the flowers smelled wonderfully intense of neroli and rose with lemon. So far it has developed best of all my David Austin roses. It is now two years old .
The blooms are medium-sized and round, with accessible stamens.
So far my favourite white rose in the garden. As you can see, it can be combined super easily :)Automatically translated · Show original
