Clematis armandii group: Woody climbers that flower on old wood in late winter and spring. Leathery, three- or five-leaved foliage, evergreen. Globular or spreading flowers 4 to 7cm in diameter in white or pink, fragrant, with 4 to 6 tepals.
Origin: The varieties are rooted in the botanical subspecies Meyeniana, mainly Clematis Armandii.
Use: As a climber. The flowers can be used as cut flowers, and the foliage is very decorative for arrangements.
Pruning: Only if necessary, after flowering.
Resistance: Prone to fungal diseases in waterlogged conditions, especially in winter. Some shoots may die back, but the plant will resprout from the base.
