Polyantha roses and older floribundas

The forerunners of the cluster-flowering floribunda and dwarf shrub roses. Their origin is not known exactly, but they are thought to descend from the prolific multiflora rose (R. multiflora). Like the 'China roses' they form small, repeat-flowering shrubs. Their small blooms, which appear in clusters and, because of their growth habit, emerge from the base, are particularly charming. The smaller cluster roses (polyanthas) in particular are excellent for edging, for loosening up plantings and in small gardens or on the balcony, also in containers.

Even though this class of roses is now counted among the bedding roses because the boundaries are increasingly blurred, we continue to keep the category in our online shop for clearer distinction.
